Understanding Spiritual Warfare: A Guide for Christians

The Importance of Obedience to God

Being obedient to God has put me on the radar of some witches, wizards, warlocks, and covens. At the end of 2016, a dear friend of mine was instructed to cover me every single day in 2017 using Psalm 91. That year, witches began to launch a full attack against me. It has been ongoing ever since. The weapons formed but did not prosper. God always had a ram in the bush, a strategy at hand, and something covering me. It wasn’t until my fifth spiritual warfare conference in 2023 that I received the insight I want to share today.

A Disturbing Encounter

Last week, I had a client whose story was the most disturbing warfare I have heard to date. I realized that every time my earthly credentials change, God allows higher levels of warfare to find me. When I got married, my covering became official, and the warfare my clients described was wild. After this client, I noticed that obtaining my Ph.D. has launched me into a new level of warfare.

I am always amazed. Even though the attacks are ones I haven’t heard before, the weapons of our warfare are tried and true. I have always been able to pull something out of my arsenal to help those in need. Won’t He do it!

If you are a believer facing attacks from witches, you need to understand the weapon of your warfare – Powers Angels. Spiritual Warfare Insights

We stumbled across this information during the attack against my 2023 Spiritual Warfare Conference – Changing of the Guards. My intercessory team and I have always been well-equipped to handle whatever the enemy throws our way. The Holy Spirit instructed me on how to strategically and intentionally cover a Kingdom Assignment. He gave me the Principle of Twelve.

One person who felt the brunt of the attacks was my boyfriend, who is now my husband. The closer it got to the conference, the more his health was attacked. This happened all four years, but in the fifth year, the enemy escalated the attacks. The week of the conference, the assault on his health was so strong that I went to his house, got into his guest bedroom closet, and began to call down fire from heaven. After that, I was exhausted from the nonstop warfare we had endured that week and trying to finalize all the last-minute details for the conference. I remember laying on his sofa and passing out.

A Vision of Protection

When I awoke the next morning, I received a message from one of the intercessors. During the second watch, she was tasked with covering him. She had a vision of a man hovering over him while he slept, except he had a demonic and skeletal face. She knew it was a witch astral projecting, trying to take him out. She was battling in prayer and became fed up with the viciousness of the attack. She was about to cut his silver cord. If you don’t know what that is, we’ll have to discuss that later.

The Holy Spirit stopped her and instructed her not to do that. If she did, that man would not have a chance to repent. Instead, He told her to “Call for powers angels to deal with human spirits.” She did, and that was that. When I went to tell him about it, he described a dream he had. He saw a man who looked very similar to the one she had seen driving away on a street near his home, looking very angry as if something didn’t go his way. So, there you have it, folks. The kingdom intel we received was credible.

A Cautionary Note

Now, I know there are teachings that suggest cutting the silver cord. Yes, this is a real thing (Ecclesiastes 12:6). However, this act prevents that person from ever returning to their physical body. They become trapped for eternity. I don’t recommend taking this approach, especially since you may not be equipped to handle the viciousness of the retaliation. Witches deeply mourn their fallen when this is done and seek heavy vengeance. Additionally, you remove the opportunity for these people to repent and choose Jesus as their Lord and Savior. All warfare should be governed by the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The Power of Angels in Warfare

Fast forward to last week. After my new client shared her disturbing story, I told her she needed to call for powers angels to deal with human spirits. Witches were harassing her in ways I didn’t even know were possible. She had knowledge of God and the Bible. She understood things about the spirit realm, but she lacked the language and insight to fight back at the level of her attack.

After our consultation, she experienced a retaliatory attack for speaking to me and obeying what God had told her to do. In the realm of the spirit, she saw a creature resembling an alligator coming for her. She called for a powers angel to assist her. This is what she sent me: “Dr. Melinda, this huge angel walked through the door and dealt with that and told me what else I needed to do.” This was incredible, and it’s her story to tell, not mine. I just needed to provide that receipt because I learned more about how these particular angels operate from her encounter.

Calling for powers angels to assist you in warfare does not absolve you from maintaining a consistent prayer life, fasting, living a consecrated life, and having a relationship with God's word. This tactic is meant to help you when engaging in active warfare against witches. It is also a tactic for believers. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, this angelic help is not available to you. At the end of this blog, I will include the steps for accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

Understanding Attacks from Witches

Now, let’s discuss how Christians who are saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost can still be attacked by witches and witchcraft.

Bloodline Sins

Bloodline sins occur when ancestors made a demonic agreement that gives access to those in the bloodline. This access point must be closed. The agreement must be repented for, denounced, and renounced. This may require a petition in the Courts of Heaven. If you are married, the access can come from your spouse's bloodline. If you have children and are not married to their mother or father, the access can come from your children's bloodline. (Exodus 20:3-5)

Open Sin in Your Life

Some Christians proclaim Christ with their mouths but not through their lifestyles. For example, if you are fornicating, that is open sin, and the enemy can attack your life at will. Satan no longer needs God's permission to attack if sin is present; that is his permission. If he chooses to use witchcraft as the tool, that’s his legal right. (Job 1:1-12)

Hidden Sin in Your Life

You may operate in sin without being aware of it, such as bitterness or unforgiveness. This is an open access point, and the enemy has legal rights to attack your life in whatever way he sees fit, including witchcraft. No matter what was done to you, according to the laws in the spirit realm and the word of God, this is still a sin. (Ephesians 4:31-32; Matthew 6:14-15)

Demonic Objects in Your Possession

Having an object in your home that belongs to the Kingdom of Darkness is like having a demonic embassy in your space. They can come at will and attack, including through witchcraft. These items can come from past relationships, disobedience, gifts from others, or something the enemy strategically sent to infiltrate your home. I will include a strategy on how to get rid of these objects at the end of this blog. (Deuteronomy 7:25-26; Joshua 7)

Mixing the Things of God with the Demonic

If you are a Christian but are burning sage, using crystals, doing yoga, reading your horoscope, using tarot cards, or engaging in anything new age while also praying, you are inviting darkness into your life. The things of God do not need help. This is idolatry. (Deuteronomy 18:9-12 KJV; Deuteronomy 12:4)

Obedience Must Be Fulfilled

If you are working on an assignment from God or engaged in spiritual warfare, you must fulfill your obedience. This means you must complete whatever the assignment is—writing the book, creating the podcast, hosting the conference, or enduring the full battle. During the window of your obedience, the enemy has the opportunity to attack you to prevent you from completing the assignment. (2 Corinthians 10:6)

High-Level Warfare

If you rank high in the spirit, you will consistently contend with witches, wizards, warlocks, practitioners, and occult-level witchcraft. It comes with the territory. (Insight on Spiritual Identity - Bottom of the Page - Link)

Conclusion

I hope this blog has been insightful. I decree that all believers under attack from witches who don’t know how to fight back find this blog or the video I am posting. I encourage you to utilize the weapons of warfare, enlist their angelic help, and learn how to fight, how to war, and how to take territory!
